On Tuesday 3 June 2008, BridgeClimb Sydney welcomed the first official wedding ceremony on the Sydney Harbour Bridge!
Stephen Tierney and Claire Tullan, from the UK, were married on the summit of this world famous icon. They both scaled to the top of the Bridge on BridgeClimb’s newest Climb adventure, The Discovery Climb.
Dressed in BridgeClimb’s BridgeSuits, Stephen and Claire made their way above the harbour on catwalks, scaled through the steel heart of the bridge and emerged to a whole new summit experience. At the summit they shared wedding vows and safely exchanged rings using BridgeClimb’s secure ring device, 134 metres above Sydney’s harbour.
“I have always dreamt of having my wedding on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The views from the summit of the bridge were unforgettable,” said Claire.
After enjoying the spectacular views of Sydney and its harbour, the newlyweds signed their certificates of marriage and spent their wedding night at the Shangri-La Hotel in Sydney, the city’s leading five-star deluxe hotel.
