Prepare to Climb

Weather info, what to wear and bring with you on the day of your Climb.

WE CLIMB, RAIN OR SHINE!

BridgeClimb is a safe experience in all-weather and we will equip you in all the outdoor gear you’ll need for your Climb based on the day’s weather conditions.

WHAT TO WEAR

  • Wear comfortable clothing on the day of your Climb (you may need to wear this under your Climb suit if the weather is on the chilly side for extra warmth!)
  • Wear comfortable, enclosed rubber-soled shoes such as running, sport or hiking shoes. PVC and leather-soled shoes are not ideal.
  • If there’s a chance it’ll rain while you’re climbing, we recommend bringing a change of shoes and socks so you can change into these after your Climb. Don’t worry about the rain, it won’t dampen your experience - it only adds to the adventure!
  • Bring your own glasses or sunglasses to wear on the day of your Climb. These will be safely attached to your Climb suit. Please note: No DVR – digital video recorder – glasses are permitted on the Bridge.

RESCHEDULING CLIMBS DUE TO WEATHER

Eyes on the sky! Our Safety Team who are out on the Bridge and in our Control Room are closely monitoring the weather throughout the day to ensure Mother Nature is playing nice with us. Even though we love a rain dance on the arches, we will cancel or postpone climbs during electrical storms, times of extremely high wind or extreme heat.

Our team will notify you as soon as possible if your climb needs to be rescheduled. If you're concerned please reach out to our team

Not a fan of the rain?

No worries, you can reschedule your Climb, for a small fee, see our Flexible Booking Policy for more details.

what to bring

CAN I BRING A CAMERA/PHONE/GO PRO?

Due to Sydney Harbour Bridge security and safety, Climbers are not permitted to take their own photography equipment on the Bridge (inc. mobile phones). We provide FREE secure lockers for you to keep your personal belongings in, including phones, cameras and GoPros. Our awesome Climb Leaders are multi-talented human beings and as well as being exceptional tour guides, they’re also trained with premium photography equipment to capture photos of you during your Climb. Precious memories to treasure forever.  Various photo packages are available to purchase before, or after your Climb from $46.95.

What about jewellery?

If you’re wearing jewellery or accessories such as a watch, bracelet, or fitness device (E.g. FitBit), these will also need to be stored in your locker. Rings or small earrings are fine to wear during your climb.

If you have long hair that is tied up, this can be done with a soft elastic hair band only, no clips, bobby pins, or scrunchies. If in doubt, ask a member of our team on the day.

DOES BRIDGECLIMB ACCEPT CASH?

No, BridgeClimb is cashless and not able to accept cash for Climb bookings, Gift Voucher purchases, photo, retail or Cafe purchases. Therefore, no need to bring cash with you on the day of your Climb!
